Check out Michael's Resin Ice Table! (It's like a resin river table... only frozen... ?)
This was an experimental technique with Total Boat Resin to replicate the look of a frozen tree bark table top that Michael then made custom red oak legs in the wood shop to showcase it. We can't wait to share it with you!
Today I am making a resin pendant light! I was curious to explore other methods of forming cast resin, besides on woodshed tools like the lathe, etc. and this is what I cam up with. The bright colors and organic shape remind me of a blown glass pendant light, except this is a much easier process to try to make yourself.
Today Michael shares how to rough cut wood from the yard for use in wood working projects! We live in a wooded area and often deal with down trees. Why not turn them into free raw material?
This is the first video in a 3 part tips and tricks edition on milling and drying wood. Look out for the next two videos which will cover a few different techniques to dry the wood and then the final milling of the dried wood to complete the process.
The only tool required for this phase is a band saw. The band saw shown is our new Laguna 14 Twelve; so far we love it.
Father, Maker, and all around fun guy.
